Albert Park is a pretty inner Melbourne suburb 3 km west of the CBD. Named after Prince Albert, the area is a mix of residential, retail and commercial buildings with wide streets and parks. Established in 1860s, Albert Park was a former rubbish dump and military camp before the artificial lake was built, It sits on Hobsons Bay (part of Port Phillip Bay) and is known for its beautiful parklands and historic landmarks.
